The thermal printer that thinks like a continuous laser printer.
Most thermal printers are designed to understand thermal printer languages.
The Microplex SOLID 45ET-1 goes much further.
It is one of the very few continuous thermal printers featuring a tractor feed with encoder technology. Instead of relying on black marks or die-cut gaps for media synchronization, the integrated encoder ensures precise positioning throughout the entire print process. The result is the same accurate media control known from continuous laser printers—ideal for synchronized industrial production and logistics environments.
But the real difference is hidden inside the controller. While most thermal printers only support thermal printer languages, the SOLID 45ET-1 also processes laser, line printer, and matrix printer data streams—making it a true replacement platform for legacy printing environments.

- PCL5 for seamless SAP® and ERP integration
- PRESCRIBE for Kyocera-based applications
- Line printer and matrix printer emulations for legacy systems
- Thermal printer languages including IGP, Labelpoint, CODE-V and many more
The result:
Existing applications can often continue to print without software modifications—even when replacing completely different printer technologies.
For OEMs, system integrators, and industrial users, this means a smooth migration path from legacy line printers, matrix printers, continuous laser printers, or conventional thermal printers to a single, modern printing platform.
The SOLID 45ET-1 is not just another thermal printer.
It is a true industrial replacement platform.
